Great Planes Super Skybolt Wings
The following pictures are of a Great Planes Super Skybolt wing re-build. This project was my first “build for hire” project back in 2003. Apparently the owners dog liked the taste of yellow Monokote and decided to feast on the original wings. He requested to have just the wings built from the kit he sent. The amazing part of it all is that we decided that he would not have to ship the original fuselage to me nor would I build the new fuselage since it would be a waste of time and probably come out slightly different anyway. The wings were constructed alone with the only work left for the owner to do was to align and drill his mounting holes. Almost unbelievably, the new wings mated right up to the old fuselage with no problems. I guess it is a testament to todays CAD drawings and computer controlled kit cutting equipment. If you have any questions or comments concerning the construction of the Great Planes Super Skybolt please feel free to email me.
